1965 Hetchins Magnum Opus Phase II Bicycle

This bike, completed on 2 October 1965, was a custom order for Mr. R. Whitfield of Kent, England. I have copies of the original build order, correspondence, notes and other information from Hetchins files about this bicycle, obtained with the assistance of Len Ingram of the Hetchins Register, VCC. I am the sixth owner. I am told it is one of 63 Magnum Opus Phase II frames known to have survived and only one of three made in a large size. In 2006, I took this bicycle to the annual Hetchins Weekend in the UK. It is also featured on Hetchins.org.

Special features include Vibrant (or Curly) rear pencil stays, Mafac Driver Cantilever Brakes, Campagnolo Record derailleur and crankset, and a unique custom stem by Keith Hellon.
